Slow Cooked Gammon recipe

This is probably one of the simplest gammon recipes you'll ever make - and because you cook it in the slow cooker, you can put it on before you go to work, meaning that you have a delicious meal ready and waiting at home.

Ingredients:

  • 400g brown sugar
  • 1 bone-in 3.5kg gammon joint

Method of Preparation:

  1. Spread around three quarters of the sugar over the bottom of the slow cooked.

  2. Place the gammon joint flat side down into the slow cooker. If needed, trim the joint to make sure that it fits.

  3. Rub the rest of the sugar over the top of the gammon joint.

  4. Cover and cook on low for eight hours.

Once cooked, remove the bone and flake to serve. Have leftovers on a sandwich the following day or serve in a creamy pasta sauce to make a filling dinner.
